OVERVIEW

The SouthEast Metro Youth Winds program has been created to give student instrumental players in the southeast part of the metroplex the opportunity to play Classical and Symphony style music in a wind band setting.

Why was the SouthEast Metro Youth Winds started?

The southeast part of the metroplex has a large number of schools who are abundantly blessed with wind and percussion players, but little or no string programs, which makes a youth symphony in our part of the metroplex problematic. This program will give students the opportunity to play Classical and Symphony style music in a wind band setting, close to home with an affordable program fee.

We will often times be playing music which is out of reach of many of the smaller school music programs because of the sheer instrumentation requirements, but by combining our young players they can experience the great music of classical and other composers.
