OUR STORY

Though the Forney Arts Council was created in 2010 based on the inspiration of a few passionate people in Forney, it has grown and is strengthened through the efforts and involvement of people like you! Indeed with your support our endeavors include but are not limited to singer/songwriter house concerts, art gallery shows, art and music classes for children and adults and our 2nd Saturdays and festivals.

OUR MISSION

The Forney area has a vibrant and inclusive environment, conducive to learning, appreciating, and experiencing the cultural arts. Our primary goal is to promote local artists by giving them a venue to connect with the public through excellence in both education and performance. We encourage community outreach and diversity. Our organization has committed to accomplishing the following goals:

  1. ADVOCATE ARTS AWARENESS

Advocate awareness through activities, events, and promotion of the arts.

  2. REPRESENT DIVERISTY

Represent the diversity of our community through public art and performance.

  3. TEACH ARTS FUNDAMENTALS

Teach fundamentals of cultural art disciplines and provide facilities for creative expression.

  4. SUSTAIN ARTS GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

Sustain the growth and development of The Forney Arts Council through ongoing financial support.

OUR VISION

The Forney Arts Council is a young vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating opportunities for local artists, while increasing the awareness of the arts in the community. We are young and old; artists and admirers; new and long-time residents of Forney. We envision an expanded Arts Center for the arts adding to Forney’s already vibrant and burgeoning downtown.
